Victor G. Ursabia is a dancer, choreographer, visual artist, ballet master and a family man. He was a former member of Ballet Philippines corps de ballet touring in local and international stages. In 1988, he was given the chance to perform as a soloist in Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and Giselle. Victor is not only a highly skilled dancer and extremely detailed in dance education but he is also a very gifted designer of sets and costumes. Having a degree in fine arts works to his advantage. His designs have been seen at the Cultural Center of the Philippines main theater stage productions such as La Revolution Filipina, Medea and Neo Filipino. For 35 long years in the art scene, he was able to develop and enhance his skills in different mediums available to express his creativity such as Painting and Photography. His subjects are mostly related to dance using acrylic and pastel, his last Exhibit was in year 2000 entitled “Dancescapes”. Most of the time, he brings his camera in anywhere he goes. His photos became a tool to help him to become a better ballet master. Photography helped him to express his artistic vision. His photographs capture the good and the bad during rehearsals and in performance thus became instrumental in making the dancers look better as they develop and mature in the performing arts.
