ROWENA GUILLERMO ELAYDA, a Filipino architect, advocates sustainability in the building industry. She received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in 1996 and has been a registered Architect since 1999. She has practiced the architecture profession for more than 20 years and has been involved in designing and construction from residential horizontal developments, commercial mixed-use developments to food retail projects. She is the technical manager at the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC), an initiative of business, industry, civil society, and public sector leaders that promotes sustainable building practices to the property industry. Presently, the PHILGBC is the leading green building movement in the country. She is the BERDE Program manager and facilitates the development, certification, and education activities of the BERDE program. She also leads the team for the Green Building Procurement Hub Program (Green Building/PH) of the PHILGBC.
